Women Referees

You are the Perfect Role Model
Women Referees are a valuable asset to the referee team and play a significant and influential role as leaders and role models to all soccer players. There are so many benefits in becoming a women referee and we are here to support your development.

“The biggest obstacle I've had to overcome is perceptions of women as referees. Once you establish you are there for the game you'll then start to be seen first as a referee, who just so happens to be a woman. I referee because it is part of who I am. I love the game of soccer and know that refereeing is the area I can contribute best, ensuring the safety, fairness and beauty of this wonderful game.” FIFA Referee, Kari Seitz

Within this guide, women will find how they can benefit from being a referee, how they can make the most of the skills they already possess and, most importantly, how the kids will benefit from their participation.

If you would like to enrich your experience as a woman referee, please contact Women Referee Coordinator, Maureen Sundstrom at the referee tent or email Referee Administrator at refereeadmin@ayso32.org.
