TEAM REFEREE REQUIREMENTS
All teams are required to provide referees. As you know, we are an all-volunteer organization, and we need the families’ help to make the season successful. You might not have been able to coach, but perhaps you can become a referee on Saturdays.
Here are the requirements based on the division your child is playing in.
8U - teams are required to have a minimum of one volunteer to become a new regional referee. The home team for Saturday's games will be required to supply the center referee for that game. The more volunteers a team has, the fewer games one person is required to do. The coach CANNOT be the referee, they are already coaching your child three days a week.
10U & 12U - teams are required to send two new volunteers to the regional referee course and referee games on Saturdays. The teams will be required to get 24 points (point system below) by the end of the season in order for their team to move on to post season playoffs. The home team on Saturdays will be required to provide the center referee and the visiting team will be required to provide the two assistant referees. The more people that take the course the less time one person has to referee on Saturdays.
14U - teams will be required to send 6 players to the regional referee course. Each player will be required to referee a minimum of one game during the season in 8U, 10U or 12U. If there are other volunteers that want to become a referee, we highly encourage it to help the team with their points. Each team will be required to get 14 points (point system below) by the end of the season in order for their team to move on to post season playoffs, but all 6 players must complete one referee assignment even if their team has met their 14-point requirement.
16U & 19U - teams will be required to send 6 players to the regional referee course. Each player will be required to referee a minimum of one game during the season in 8U, 10U or 12U. The teams will be required to get 6 points, but all 6 players must complete one referee assignment even if they have met their 6-point requirement.
